About Us
William Wendt, Sr. founded Van Products' parent organization, Orthopedic Service Company, in Raleigh, North Carolina over 50 years ago. In 1974, Van Products, Inc. was formed to meet the specialized transportation requirements of physically challenged individuals. From that day Van Products has offered sales and service of personal and commercial vehicles, lifts, ramps, hand controls and other adaptive equipment.
Driver & Passenger Evaluations
Van Products will do a free complete evaluation to determine the modifications you will need to help you make the right decisions on your vehicle or equipment purchase. We'll ask you questions like:
- Do you need a full sized van or a minivan?
- If you drive, will you transfer or drive from a wheelchair?
- How tall do you sit in your wheelchair?
- For increased headroom will you need a raised top or lowered floor?
- What is the length and width of your wheelchair?
- Do you anticipate your needs changing while you own the vehicle?
We will ask you a lot of questions, so don't be afraid to ask us either! Your purchase is a big investment and it is easier and less expensive to make changes before your vehicle is built than after. This evaluation will not take a very long time and it will help you avoid unneeded modifications. Van Products has been tailoring vehicles to the needs of the physically challenged with quality work on automotive conversions, modifications, and adaptive equipment since 1972. We have a large inventory of new and used wheelchair accessible vans for sale or lease with special financing and rebates available. Van Products also offers the option of buying a van that is already equipped; or our highly trained technicians can custom build a van to your needs at our facilities in Raleigh and Wilmington. Van Products provides special transportation for physically challenged individuals, churches, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, municipalities and rehabilitation centers.
Service & Repair
Van Products service and repair department consistently provides quality workmanship that is unequalled anywhere. We provide free estimates prior to any work we do, and all work is fully warranted. Our factory certified technicians will complete all work properly and you will be shown how to operate your vehicle safely. You will also be encouraged to return on a regular basis for free inspections of all modifications performed, ensuring years of reliable service.
