Generally, if the person using the scooter is able to walk, scooter lifts allows the user to:

  • Lower the lift
  • Drive the scooter onto the lift
  • Dismount the scooter
  • Raise the lift (& lock it)
  • Enter the vehicle and drive away

Today, there are a wide variety of makes and models of scooter lifts to choose from, ranging from mechanical solutions to fully-integrated systems where all you have to do is push a button.

How do I know which scooter lift will work best?

Use our ‘Contact Page’ to call or email us with your vehicle make, model and year. Also, include information about the scooter that you plan to lift. One of our mobility experts will then be able to advise you as to which scooter lift will work best.

Can I install my scooter lift by myself?

Manual scooter lifts can be installed easily by yourself. Most manual scooter lifts are attached to your vehicle by sliding a device into a hitch, located at the rear of your vehicle. Don’t have a hitch? Contact us for recommendations on where to have one installed based on where you live

Electrically-powered scooter lifts are more complicated to install. For this reason, we highly recommend seeking the assistance of one of our mobility professionals. This is due to the fact that most electric mobility devices, such as electric power scooters, require drilling into the trunk or storage space of your vehicle and then wiring the unit to your vehicle.

Scooter lifts are available for most vehicle and chair combinations and can work well in vans, in the trunk of a car, pick up trucks, SUVs or station wagons. If you have any other questions about scooter lifts, please do not hesitate to contact us today
